Summer break and MFBot 5.1.6b3/4

Update: 21.08.2019

Because Beta 3 had some problems, we release with beta 4 a version that again includes the latest changes and particularly addresses the problems of the last beta. Have fun!

PS: Keep in mind that this is a beta, that means, you should have an eye on it at least on the start.

Original post

Good evening.

With this post we would like to inform you that we have released a beta version today, especially to fix a bug in the arena.
Since we are currently spending a lot of time refactoring the program code, the list of this changes in this beta is a bit smaller. However, the bot should run a bit smoother anyway, as we often notice bugs and improvement possibilities in the base code of the bot during the refactoring, which affect the whole bot.

At the same time we announce our annual summer break starting Saturday.
Please note that support by e-mail will not be possible three weeks from that and that answers in the forum will also be delayed.
But after the summer break we will be back for you fresh and full of beans!

Greetings,
Robin

PS: A little reminder, because the last beta version was a while ago: The easiest way to get the beta version is the global setting “Update channel” in the Bot
Otherwise you only have to replace “latest” with “beta” in the download links on the download page.

Version 5.1.5(.1/2) Pyrus

Good evening.

We still haven’t been able to spend much time on the bot in the past weeks, but we were still able to get a few things done.
These include some significant improvements in the cache for the item simulations, the local bot database (better known as bot.dat) and the overall performance if you use many accounts on the bot.

At the same time, we not only changed things under the hood, but also “above” it: There are some new settings regarding the dungeons (most importantly the new dungeon of course), also very important: The school of magic now has a separate settings switch, which is disabled by default like most settings! So please have a look there.

We’ve also made changes and bug fixes to other settings, such as the guild building expansion and some graphical bugs in the settings.

Further information can be found in the Changelog, which is available from this version on under the corresponding Changelog page. This simplifies the publishing process a little and makes the homepage posts a little bit clearer in our opinion.

I also think that at this point it is necessary to mention that the bot can also handle the “Shakes and Fidget 3.0” update.
This means: The bot versions of the series 1.x and 2.x should generally be avoided for a long time now, the 3.x series still runs with server version 1 if you really want it to (original-like old P servers for example) and all versions from 4.x and later should be able to work with the current servers. Due to security problems and general errors in the past that increased the risk of detection, we still recommend to play always on the latest bot version.

Have a nice week!
~ Robin

Version 5.1.4.1 Origanum – Maintenance Release

Good evening!
Today’s release is mainly a maintenance release to address the bugs in the fortress/underworld. Nevertheless, a minor function addition has found its way into the update: The possibility to update the bot during runtime, too – this behavior can be disabled via the global settings as usual, though.

Regards and have a nice weekend!

Attention: This version requires server with S&F 2.0 update!
